Gentlemen we are stepping up the sorties to 3 per day. Dawn to dark. Flights will be looking for targets of opportunity on every road leading East. Nothing moving on wheels or on foot will be allowed to escape - that means trains, armor, vehicles, motorcycles, transports and horse drawn wagons.

The Luftwaffe is weakened. In these next days, we will cripple their aerodromes and force their pilots to seek refuge to the East with all the pressure we can muster. The HBF will provide close air support to the leading edge of our forward groups the US Ninth Army and the US First Army. Our US armor is ready to cross the Roer River in the morning!

At this hour several of our HBF flights are returning to Liege - old hands led by Col. Boomer and his P51s and Capt. Santini and his P47 Jugheads. Their group is 4 minutes out, low on fuel, ammo expended. It looks like all will make it home - tower personnel are spotting the flight now, and the count looks good.

Pilot 'Baddog', your ride is on the runway, engine warmed, ordnance loaded. Grab your last cup of Joe.

We are clearing your group for takeoff at 1440. The strike on Duren is what you trained for these last weeks. It will be hot. Duren will have heavy flak units positioned around the runway for their last stand. Spare no building, no plane, no armor or vehicle. Destroy the base. Level it.

Santini and Boomer' flights will gas up, re-arm and will launch ahead of you.

You are flying with the best. Ok. Break gentlemen. Good Luck!
