11 September 2005    MEGA reports in from Italy


MEGA

offers us "Lady Ellen III" of the 309th Fighter Group.
This Spitfire was flown by Lt. John Fawcett based in
Castel Volturno Italy.
The color scheme on this mod is unique as explained
in the readme.

31 July 2005    WWII FIGHTERS HQ Remembers Dann

Nels "Dan" Niemi

On our message board we knew him as "Dann". We knew him for his kind words and for his exciting fictional stories. In life he was a husband and a father to two young children and a police officer in the San Leandro Police Department. But as is the case with all of our valued friends here, there was much more to Dann than we will ever know.

In recent times Dann was expressing his enthusiasm for WWII aerial combat in the form of a fictional story. He would share that story with us one exciting chapter at a time. On July 24th he promised us chapter 8 within a couple of weeks, but it was not meant to be. On July 25th he met his untimely demise while serving to protect the public. He was murdered after responding to a disturbance-of-the-peace call.

Dann, our prayer is that you are now flying in ways you only once dreamed and wrote about. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of loss.

23 July 2005    HUTCH finds a Panzer III in the desert
                       and a Panzerschreck in the ETO



Hutch
modifies MIKH's Panzer III
with additional crew, new detail and damage model.
The Panzer III was the mainstay of the German
Afrika Korps in North Africa between 1941 and 1942.


and

gives us a RPzB54 PANZERSCHRECK,
literally "Tank Terror".

This new mod moves and fires.
These men will actually attack a tank and
take it out if they get a chance.
First used following D-Day with devastating
effect against the Allied armour.

Great work, Hutch!

25 June 2005    HUTCH rolls out a King Tiger
                        DowninFlames joins the mission builders.

Hutch
modifies MEGA's great King Tiger V.2
with new crew, markings and new damage model.
This mod depicts a PanzerKampfWagen (PzKpfw) of the
1st Tank Platoon, 1st Tank Company, 2nd SS Panzer.

It just keeps gettin' better!

28 May 2005    Hutch and Rockhead Work Overtime

Hutch
offers version 2 of his Sherman M4A3
with new a turret-mounted Browning
machine gun. Painted in the colors of
the 3rd King's Own Hussars which formed
part of the 7th Armoured Brigade, the
legendary "Desert Rats".
New damage model included.

The Afrika Korps gets new field units;
an sFH-18 Howitzer and an leFH-18
Howitzer with greater detail and
crews with new uniforms.
Based on MIKH's outstanding
modeling.


Also available is a Sherman M4A3 for
the European Theater of Operations.
New damage model included.

12 March 2005    MEGA gives us trees for Malta.

MEGA

creates a mod developed to complement the
new Malta terrain.  It replaces the single tree
with numerous trees and bushes of varying size.

This mod should function well with all terrains.

26 February 2005    Hutch repaints everything... single handed.

Hutch

has delivered an entire fleet of vehicles.
This mod replaces the standard dark green with
a lighter and more authentic shade of olive drab.
